RESTORMEL ARTS PRESENTS
Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’
Venue : “Wheal Martyn China Clay Works”, Carthew, St Austell, PL26 8XG
Wednesday 5th July 7.30pm
The Festival Player’s International presents Shakespeare’s delightful romantic comedy, “Twelfth Night” in a traditional Shakespearean style. This is Open-Air Theatre at its best
“If Music Be The Food Of Love, Play On”
Following our acclaimed production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which toured through the Summer of 2022, we are delighted to announce that our 2023 production will be Twelfth Night.
This great romantic comedy has all the ingredients for another engaging Shakespeare performance from Festival Players International, the UK’s prime all-male touring company.
In a colourful, costumed staging, brought to you with the Players’ customary energy, clarity, and professionalism, this tale of the pursuit of love hampered by disguise, mistaken identity, and a great deal of roisterous and hilarious trickery, is assured to entertain.
“Wheal Martyn China Clay Works” :

The play will take place on the China Clay Works terrace which is the remains of an old Linhay building.
In the Victorian times, this building would have stored up to 1000 tonnes of China Clay before it was loaded onto wagons in blocks or packed tightly into casks or sacks. The horse-drawn wagons delivered the Clay to Charlestown Harbour from where it was transported along the coast further “up-country” or exported.
Doors Open, Licensed Bar & Café from 6.00pm
If wet, the performance will move inside, into the Atrium
The Play starts at 7.30pm.
